Quarter 2 NAC Newsletter (April – June 2026)

The National HIV/AIDS/STI/TB Council (NAC) recorded significant progress in Zambia’s HIV response during the second quarter of 2026. Key highlights included the national launch of the Dapivirine Vaginal Ring (DVR), providing women and adolescent girls with a new, long-acting HIV prevention option alongside continued preparations for introducing innovative prevention technologies such as Lenacapavir (LEN). NAC also strengthened national HIV coordination through capacity-building initiatives, Global Fund Grant Cycle 8 planning, improved data quality assessments, stakeholder engagement, and expanded partnerships. These efforts reaffirm NAC’s commitment to accelerating HIV prevention, improving service delivery, and advancing Zambia’s goal of ending HIV/AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.
