The National AIDS Council (NAC) was honoured with the Community Impact Champion Award during this year’s (2025) Africa Public Service Day celebrations held at Piazza East Park shopping mall. The Africa Public Service Day event, which is commemorated annually, aims to promote the values of transparency, accountability, and people-centered service delivery within Zambia’s public institutions. The Community Impact Champion Award is one of the highest honours, recognising entities that demonstrate measurable and lasting social change.
The award, presented by the Cabinet Office under the theme “Enhancing the Agility and Resilience of Public Institutions to Achieve Equitable Governance and Rapidly Address Historical Service Delivery Gaps”, recognises NAC’s outstanding contributions to community health and well-being through its coordinated national HIV response efforts.
NAC’s recognition underscores its vital role in Zambia’s journey toward achieving the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets and ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.
